Based on the observation, the phenotypes of CANA-treated mice are similar to those of adipocyte-specific inducible phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN)-knockout mice, which exhibit enhanced adipocyte insulin signaling39; they gained more weight and adipose tissue during high-fat diet feeding, and showed enhanced insulin sensitivity, improved hepatic steatosis, and reduced adipose tissue inflammation. The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is fatty liver disease.
