OCLN and escherichia coli infection: As shown in Fig. 8b–d, E. coli infection significantly decreased tight junction protein ZO-1, claudin-1 and occludin mRNA expression compared with NC mice, however, treatment with the C. militaris mycelium producing Mag II-CB markedly inhibited the E. coli-induced ZO-1 and occluding decrease, and there was a trend toward a decrease in claudin-1 mRNA expression, whereas the effect of the C. militaris mycelium producing CB was less pronounced than that of Mag II-CB peptide.
