The α6A/B variants were also found to be differentially expressed along the intestinal and colonic crypt axes, ITGA6A expression is restricted to the proliferative and undifferentiated cells of the crypts, whereas ITGA6B was found in the quiescent and differentiated cells of the small intestinal villus and colonic surface epithelia [12,20] consistent with its anti-proliferative influence on CRC cell proliferation [12]. Here, ITGA6 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
