It is known that the early genetic and epigenetic events in the transition from normal prostate to PCa involves the loss of FOXP3 (NM_014009), downregulation of glutathione-S-transferase P1 (NM_000852) and NKX3-1 (NM_006167) expression, increase in lipid metabolism and overexpression of SPINK1 (NM_003122) and also genes, encoding the ETS Family of transcription factors, due to chromosomal translocations13. This evidence concerns the gene FOXP3 and posterior cortical atrophy.
