Yang et al. showed that miR-198-5p was capable to suppress proliferation and promote apoptosis in lung cancer cells by targeting FGFR1 [12], and Wu et al. showed that miR-198-5p promotes apoptosis, represses cell proliferation, and leads to cell cycle arrest in lung adenocarcinoma cells by directly targeting SHMT1 [39]. This evidence concerns the gene FGFR1 and lung carcinoma.
