Other studies support our findings of this pro-nociceptive role of BDNF in pain chronification, where spinal BDNF mediates prolonged PGE2 sensitivity in rodents primed with IL-6 (Melemedjian et al., 2013) and sequestering BDNF in the cisterna magna can prevent IL-6-mediated hyperalgesic priming in a model of migraine (Burgos-Vega et al., 2016). The gene discussed is BDNF; the disease is migraine disorder.
