ERCC1 and cervical cancer: Cisplatin–DNA adducts are removed via nucleotide excision repair, and relationships between ERCC1 expression and resistance to platinum compounds have been observed in patients with various cancers, including cervical cancer.[12,14–16,20,21] We hypothesized that ERCC1 would be associated with the response to treatment, and explored whether ERCC1 expression could serve as a biological marker predicting the clinical outcomes of patients with advanced uterine cervical cancer undergoing platinum-based chemotherapy.
