Gallen Consensus Meeting [4] suggested that breast cancer should be divided into four subtypes: luminal A [estrogen receptor (ER) positive and/or progesterone receptor (PR) positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 [HER-2] negative], luminal B (ER positive and/or PR positive, HER-2 positive), HER-2 positive (ER negative, PR negative, HER-2 positive), and triple negative (ER negative, PR negative, HER-2 negative) [5, 6]. The gene discussed is ERBB2; the disease is breast carcinoma.
