Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a frequent mental health problem of soldiers returning from recent conflicts and is manifested by cognitive impairment, depression, fear response, sleep disorders, etc. The present study demonstrates that pharmacological treatment with mGluR2/3 receptor antagonist (BCL-838) can modify or reverse the PTSD-related behaviors in a rat blast injury model. This evidence concerns the gene GRM2 and post-traumatic stress disorder.
