It has been shown that the inhibition of MMP-2 expression appears to be connected to the reduction of transcription factor Sp1 [26,27], and we have found in other cancer cell lines that CH-5 decreases the levels of Sp1 protein [17,18]; so probably the anti-migration and anti-invasion effects of CH-5, at least in part, can be related to the downregulation of the Sp1/MMP-2 axis.
