Translational controlled tumor protein (TCTP) has been classified as an oncogene and its effects include an anti-apoptotic role inhibiting BCL2-associated X Protein (Bax), down-regulates p53, induces a faster cell cycle progression which promotes higher mutation rate, and induces cytokines production that promote inflammation [15–17] suggesting TCTP could be a target for anti-cancer drugs. Here, TPT1 is linked to cancer.
