RIOK1 and gastric cancer: Notably, CK2 was previously identified as an interaction partner of the Rio 1 p, a homologs of the human RIOK1 in yeast by MS analysis, and phosphorylation by CK2 leads to moderate activation of Rio1p in vivo and promotes cell proliferation (Angermayr et al., 2007), which is consistent with our data in human CRC and GC.
