AMPH and schizophrenia: Finally, one interesting more recent study, evaluating the effects of A2A receptor deletion on schizophrenia, found that AMPH induced a lower hyperlocomotion response in male CD1 A2A KO mice at 120–170 min, in comparison to wild type AMPH-treated mice; this effect was observed to a major extent in female CD1 A2A KO mice at 70–180 min, in comparison to wild type AMPH-treated mice (Moscoso-Castro et al., 2016).
