SUFU and neoplasm: Here, we consider the Sufu as a downstream target of 14-3-3ζ is based on three reasons: 1) 14-3-3ζ is highly expressed in many tumor types and binds to target proteins by a phosphorylation manner [21]; 2) Sufu contains a conserved 14-3-3 binding motif, of which S342 and S346 sites have also been reported to be phosphorylated [26]; 3) 14-3-3-Pred software predicts the two sites are the candidates of 14-3-3 binding sites.
