The results demonstrated that there was an increase in the levels of chemokines (CXCL8, CCL11, CCL2 and CXCL10); pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ and IL-17); regulatory cytokines (IL-1Ra, IL-4 and IL-9) and growth factors (FGF-basic, PDGF, G-CSF and GM-CSF) in the ZIKV-infected patient with atrial fibrillation, considering the 95%CI of the mean values observed for a control group of gender-matching healthy individuals. The gene discussed is IL1B; the disease is atrial fibrillation.
