From our results, there are two outcomes when the NoxR-binding form of Cdc42 is introduced into the racA mutant: 1) No detectable recovery of the defect is observed in the racA mutant (e.g. polarized hyphal growth), or 2) The Phenotype of racA mutant is restored to wild type (e.g. hyphal fusion, symbiotic infection). This evidence concerns the gene CDC42 and infection.
