LRRK2 and Parkinson disease: Deficits in adult neurogenesis have been reported to contribute to the age-dependent non-motor symptoms of PD patients [17, 18], and it will be interesting to determine whether alterations in centrosomal cohesion parallel the deficits in cell growth of neuronal precursor cells derived from LRRK2 PD patients in vitro, or the impairment of adult neurogenesis in mutant LRRK2-transgenic mice in vivo [15, 16].
