Quantification of the intensity of the fluorescence signal revealed a slight, but not significant increase in phospho-Rab8a staining in G2019S LRRK2-PD samples as compared to controls (Additional file 6: Figure S6e), suggesting that higher affinity phospho-antibodies will be required to detect possible changes in the localization of endogenous phosphorylated Rab8a. This evidence concerns the gene LRRK2 and Parkinson disease.
