This study demonstrates that hip fracture-induced IMD, characterized by reduced TNF-α/IL-10 ratio, in aged rats may be attributable to the downregulation of miR-130a-3p and the upregulation of target S1PR1 and IRF1. Our experimental results may aid in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the roles of miRNAs in the pathogenesis of IMD related to elderly hip fracture. The gene discussed is IRF1; the disease is hip fracture.
