The AML patients showing the highest HOX expression also show the highest levels of FGF2, αVβ3 and CDX4, and this subset of patients with the highest expression are also characterized by a higher proliferative response to exogenous GM-CSF and a stronger antiproliferative effect of FGF2/Syk inhibition [38].
