LTF and rheumatoid arthritis: The results showed that the positively charged liposomes, after injection for 2 h, were more efficient in prolonging the residence time of lactoferrin in the inflamed joint as compared with other liposomes, suggesting that the entrapment of lactoferrin in positively charged liposomes could modify its pharmacodynamic profile and be of therapeutic benefit in the treatment of RA and other local inflammatory conditions.
