Our results revealed that the percentage of positive SSBP1 staining of tumor tissues had no significant difference between GC patients with homozygous wild (CC) genotype and those carrying variant-containing (CG and GG) genotypes (9/38 vs. 10/32, P = 0.403), but the SSBP1 expression level in GCs with homozygous wild (CC) genotype was significantly elevated in comparison to those with the variant-containing (CG/GG) genotypes (4.68 ± 0.58 vs. 3.03 ± 0.53, P = 0.042) (Figure 5C). The gene discussed is SSBP1; the disease is gastric cancer.
