The strategy of blocking PD-1 and PD-L1 by mAbs has given encouraging results in the treatment of other cancer types; pembrolizumab and nivolumab, targeting PD-1, were approved by Food and Drug Administation (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA) for advanced melanoma therapy in late 2014 and for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) therapy in March 2015 [48,49]. Here, CD274 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
