Since the function of eIF4E1 has been implicated in translation of genes associated with malignant transformation49–51, we next asked if eIF4E1 plays a role in translation of HK2. However, studies on the regulation of eIF4E1 expression and its phosphorylation during hypoxia are conflicting. The gene discussed is EIF4E; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
