IFITM1 and three of the novel interactors (NME5, UIMC1 and DYNLT3) were found in cilia interactome (i.e. interactome of proteins of the organelle cilia), and seemed to be associated with processes that led to hydrocephalus, a condition frequently associated with ciliopathies, in which cerebrospinal fluid accumulate in the brain ventricle giving rise to an enlarged head, viz. The gene discussed is IFITM1; the disease is ciliopathy.
