Finally, this study opens the interesting possibility that glial hemichannels could be involved in the neuroinflammatory response mediated by c-Src in major CNS diseases like Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease or stroke (Paul et al., 2001; Dhawan and Combs, 2012; Tai et al., 2013; Kaufman et al., 2015; Wang et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene SRC and Parkinson disease.
