The data presented in the preceding sections document that in the H322 non-small cell lung carcinoma cell line, overexpression of YWHAG, resulting in an excess of the 14-3-3γ protein, increases the prevalence of mononucleate polyploidy by endoreduplication, predisposes to chromosome segregation errors, and promotes a stable polyploid phenotype. This evidence concerns the gene YWHAG and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
