ALK rearrangement, a distinctive subset of NSCLC, is associated with several distinctive clinical and pathologic features including younger in age, never/light smoking with adenocarcinoma, men in gender, more likely to have abundant signet ring cells and absence of EGFR and Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene (KRAS) mutations [10]. Here, KRAS is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
