Previously, FGF16 has been demonstrated to be over-expressed in breast carcinoma and its expression positively correlates with metastasis through regulating multiple transcription factors and up-regulating the expression of integrin alpha-5, colony stimulating factor 1 (CSF-1), stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) and C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4) [10]. This evidence concerns the gene CXCR4 and breast carcinoma.
