When considering pooled data from the normothermic and hypothermic rats, the number of caspase-3+ cells in the sub-granular zone of the injured hemisphere correlated with neurological deficit score (**p < 0.01; Figure 4C) but did not correlate with cerebral infarct size (p > 0.05; Figure 4D) in the normothermic and hypothermic rats.
