To confirm the pivotal inhibitory effect of gp96-II peptide on IL-12/IL-18-induced inflammation in vivo, we utilized a chronic intestinal inflammation model in which a daily i.p. co-administration of IL-18 and IL-12 induces a severe systemic toxicity and type 1 immune response in mice, causing weight loss and increased serum cytokine levels (15, 19, 20). The gene discussed is IL18; the disease is inflammatory response.
