FOLH1 and cancer: PSMA is highly expressed on the surface of prostate cancer, which is the second leading cancer in the male population.35–37 PSMA is a prostate cancer-specific biomarker which has been correlated with aggressive disease and used for monitoring of therapy.35–37 Since the ability to detect very low levels of PSMA may enable doctors to diagnose men with prostate cancer recurrence, it has the capability to reduce prostate cancer-related mortality and morbidity.
