NPPB and cardiac hypertrophy: The findings that CLA% was inversely associated with NT‐proBNP, a marker of neurohormonal activation and cardiac injury, are consistent with the suggestion that CLA inhibits cardiac hypertrophy.8 The association between CLA% and incident HF was mediated by NT‐proBNP, suggesting that CLA may prevent the development of cardiac hypertrophy, a major factor leading to HF.
