In the CCLE data set, expression of the target genes, BRD2, BRD3 or BRD4, at naive state was confirmed in the S2-like cell lines, which are already known to exhibit MYC pathway activation (Figure 4a).4 As expected, the S2-like cell lines showed higher sensitivity to (+)-JQ1 as indicated by lower half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values (Figure 4b), further supporting the use of hepatoma cell lines as experimental models to assess molecular subtype-specific anti-HCC drug response. This evidence concerns the gene BRD4 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
