TNF-α may be the most important cytokine induced by NF-κB during uveitis.45 TNF-α is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by activated macrophages and monocytes during immune response to various infectious agents or other oxidant stimuli.9 It is one of the most abundant and toxic cytokines secreted after LPS stimulation.
