PSIP1 and HIV-1 infection: Among the microRNAs enhanced in macrophages were miR-155-5p (p = 7.4 × 10−2, log2 = 1.1), a microRNA that has been shown to down-regulate the HIV-dependency factors, LEDGF/p75, ADAM10 and NUP153 in TLR3-activated macrophages [55], miR-146a (p = 7 × 10−5, log2 = 2), which promotes HIV-1 infection in microglial cells [56], miR-221 (p = 8.4 × 10−3, log2 = 1.5) and miR-222 (p = 3.7 × 10−10, log2 = 3.5) [57].
