SNAI2 and cancer: A mesenchymal phenotype, characterised by low expression of E-cadherin (CDH1), high expression of vimentin (VIM) and high expression of EMT-inducing transcription factors, such as TWIST1, ZEB1, SNAI1 and SNAI2 (Figure 1B) moreover correlates with the expression of cancer stem cell markers CD44 and CD90 (Figure 1C).
