Similar but not statistically significant results were seen for rs2060793 (proxy for GWAS rs10741657 located in gene encoding cytochrome P450 [CYP2R1] in chromosome 11); compared with major homozygotes, heterozygotes in the group with lower levels of vitamin D had a slightly decreased risk of breast cancer (OR 0.95, 95% CI 0.67–1.35), but in the high vitamin D group, a reverse effect with increased breast cancer risk was seen (OR 1.35, 95% CI 0.93–1.97; p = 0.10 for interaction) (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene CYP2R1 and breast carcinoma.
