CXCL16 and cancer: Finally, we investigated the expression of CXCL16 and its receptor C-X-C chemokine receptor type 6 (CXCR6), a G-protein-coupled receptor with potential therapeutic relevance, in a subset of tissue samples derived from patients with UC compared to hospital controls (i.e., those with urocystitis but no cancer) to gain first insights into a possible role of CXCL16 in UC carcinogenesis.
