CRP and colorectal cancer: In this subgroup analysis of a randomized clinical trial comparing open and minimally invasive surgery for colorectal cancer, CRP levels in patients with an uncomplicated postoperative course or minor complication were significantly lower in the minimally invasive group compared to the open group at 24 and 72 h postoperatively, whereas in patients with major complications no differences were observed for CRP levels between the two different surgical approaches.
