Treatment of colorectal, prostate and breast cancer cell lines with the CARM1 inhibitor EZM2302 had no anti-proliferative effect (Supplementary Table 2), suggesting that CARM1 catalytic activity is not necessary for proliferation in these indications, though it does not rule out a potential non-catalytic role of CARM1, such as a protein scaffolding function. This evidence concerns the gene CARM1 and breast carcinoma.
