CIP2A is a cellular PP2A inhibitor, and the CIP2A–PP2A axis is important for CIP2A-induced tumorigenesis.1 PP2A is a key cellular serine–threonine phosphatase and is an essential tumor suppressor.35 Our finding that CIP2A is frequently overexpressed in MM is novel and suggests CIP2A deregulation as a possible contributing mechanism to inhibit PP2A. The gene discussed is CIP2A; the disease is Miyoshi myopathy.
