IL17A and pulmonary tuberculosis: Recently, several polymorphisms in the IL-17A gene were identified, among them, rs1974226 and rs3748067 polymorphisms in the 3’ untranslated region (3’ UTR) of the IL-17A gene, and rs2275913 polymorphism in the promoter of the IL-17A gene, which were reported to be functional in influencing individual’s susceptibility to a huge numbers of human diseases, such as gastric cancer [32–35], pulmonary tuberculosis [36], asthma [37–39], osteoarthritis [40], rheumatoid arthritis [41], and CAD [42–44].
