By targeted analysis of a selection of reported risk SNPs in 1,172 Japanese patients with POAG and 1,559 ethnically matched controls, variants near CDKN2B-AS1 (rs2157719), SIX6 (rs33912345) and GAS7 (rs9913911) were found to be associated with the disease in the population. Here, CDKN2B is linked to open-angle glaucoma.
