SOX2 promotes the invasion, migration, and metastasis of melanoma, colorectal cancer, glioma, and cancers of the stomach, ovary, and liver through the activation of matric metalloproteinases family, and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)–RAC-α serine/threonine kinases (AKT)–mammalian target of the rapamycin signaling pathway [35–37].
