MAPT and breast cancer: Recently, the Tau protein has been identified as a marker of response to paclitaxel in breast cancer and OC.3, 4 It was reported that the negative expression of the Tau protein appears to be both a good prognostic factor and a predictor of the response to paclitaxel and platinum‐based chemotherapy in patients with epithelial OC.4 Another study also reported that low Tau protein expression might be used as a marker to select patients for paclitaxel therapy.5 In the field of gynecological oncology, very little work has been done on the Tau protein.
