Recently, the Tau protein has been identified as a marker of response to paclitaxel in breast cancer and OC.3, 4 It was reported that the negative expression of the Tau protein appears to be both a good prognostic factor and a predictor of the response to paclitaxel and platinum‐based chemotherapy in patients with epithelial OC.4 Another study also reported that low Tau protein expression might be used as a marker to select patients for paclitaxel therapy.5 In the field of gynecological oncology, very little work has been done on the Tau protein. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and breast carcinoma.
