Adding to the facts that the immunological suppression capacity of Tregs is partly dependent on TGF-beta1 [23] and that the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6 is a powerful independent risk factor for the development of CAD and ACS [42–44], it might be suggested that the reduction of Helios+ Tregs is associated with immunosuppressive deficiency in ACS, and Helios+ Tregs might play a role in CAD. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and coronary artery disorder.
