GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Overall, patients with underlying liver disease (NAFLD, HBV carriage or AFLD) had higher mean total bilirubin and ALT levels compared with those with no concomitant chronic liver condition (71 vs. 42 μmol/L and 2290 vs. 1232 U/L, respectively) although this finding did not reach statistical significance (P-values by Student’s t-test: 0.229; 0.132, respectively).
