In the diaphragm and gastrocnemius muscles of cancer-cachexia rats, protein content of MyHC-I and MyHC-II isoforms, and total MyHC were significantly lower than in muscles of the non-cachexia controls, whereas actin, creatine kinase and carbonic anhydrase-3 protein levels did not significantly differ among the experimental groups (Figs. 4A–4C, 5A–5C and Figs. S9–S13, respectively). Here, CA3 is linked to cancer.
