It is known that the most effective treatment and parasitological cure for the T. cruzi infection is associated with initial production of inflammatory cytokines in early stages of infection [19, 33, 51–54] The BNZ induces clearence of the parasite and triggers the release of antigens, which increases the production of IFN-γ and therefore enhances the action of the BNZ [55]. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and infection.
