We found higher levels of miR-370 in human breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7, MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-468, SKBR-3 and SUM159) compared with the normal breast cell line (Hs-578Bst) (Figure 8C), and western blot analyses showed that protein levels of GPD1 were dramatically upregulated in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells when miR-370 expression was inhibited (Figure 8D-E). The gene discussed is GPD1; the disease is breast cancer.
